House of Representatives

Elected in 2013 and served until 2017, Duckworth did not spend a lot of time in office as a Representative she still worked to make places more accessible for new mothers and continues her fight to help veterans through legislation        Some of this legislation includes:                                                                                 -F.A.M. (Friendly Airports for Mothers Act): signed in law October of 2018, to ensure safe, clean, and accessible lactation rooms in airports.                                  -Troop Talent Act: to help returning Veterans find jobs.                              Duckworth did much more than this, during her time in office but these are the most memorable.

Senate

Elected as Illinois's Senator in 2018, where she still remains today. Duckworth's ideology of helping Veterans, minorities, and Families has remained the same through her time working for the government. Tammy Duckworth stands up for what she believes in, not afraid to speak the truth. She introduces and enforces legislation to help these groups.

Some of this legislation includes:

NDAA: helps support the military to be ready for training and material wise for whenever necessary.

Martha Wright-Reed Just and Reasonable communications Act: allows those imprisoned to stay in touch with loved ones.

*fights to re-enstate Roe v. Wade, to ensure women's right to an abortion. As well as access to IVF treatments which is close to home since Duckworth underwent IVF treatments to have her two daughters in her 50's
