Significance & Awareness

Tammy Duckworth's Contributions to the U.S. has effected, politics, society, and culture of America.
She is a woman of 'many firsts' (look in the Importance tab for more info). Senator Duckworth is a minority who rose up from nothing, made a name for herself despite the racism and discrimination she faced as a mixed disabled woman, but because of what she faced she fights for what she believes in; fighting for Veterans, Women, people of color, and the common family.
It is important that Tammy Duckworth is known because her life has been to break free from the stigmas surrounding so many issues that many before her have refused to face such as; Veteran suicide rates, IVF treatments, abortions, and being a mother and a worker. She's paved the way for so many, and continues to do so without backing down when someone more powerful attempts to stop her.
